Georgia Plant Conservation Alliance
The Georgia Plant Conservation Alliance is an innovative network of public gardens, government agencies, and environmental organizations committed to preserving Georgia's endangered flora. Formed in 1995, GPCA initiates and coordinates efforts to protect natural habitats and endangered species through biodiversity management and public education. From rigorous scientific research to hands-on stewardship projects with elementary schools, the combined resources, expertise and outreach strategies of GPCA members provide powerful tools for plant conservation in Georgia.
Georgia Chapter of the Soil and Water Conservation Society
The Soil and Water Conservation Society is an international organization comprised of about 10,000 professionals and students involved in conservation. It fosters the science and the art of soil, water, and related natural resource management to achieve sustainability. We promote and practice an ethic recognizing the interdependence of people and the environment.
Georgia Chapter of the Society for Conservation Biology
The mission of the Georgia SCB is to broaden awareness of local and global biodiversity issues and to facilitate collaboration among diverse disciplines with a shared interest in studying and sustaining natural resources.

We tried to verify and correct them all against sources of bibliographic information on the internet, primarily library and journal web sites.

Student Conservation Association
Tens of thousands of green professionals, from park superintendents to urban planners, can trace their start to SCA. This is where college and high school students connect with nature, render hands-on service, gain new skills and perspectives, and launch a lifetime of stewardship.

Did you know that Georgia has one of the richest diversities of plants and animals in the country?For example, Georgia has more species of freshwater fish than any other state except Alabama and Tennessee. Some of these species are found nowhere else in the world!
By exploring this site, you will discover some non-game animals that have been identified as conservation priorities by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. The populations of these animals are in decline for one or more reasons and are being watched and managed by the Department of Natural Resources. Some of the species have been listed as threatened or endangered.
